What is 2-Hard Film Hardener?

Do you need to paint plastic or other hard surfaces? Then Angelus 2-Hard is the perfect item for you! When mixed with Angelus Acrylic Paints, this product will allow the paint to adhere to non-porous surfaces such as plastic or glass. Angelus 2-Hard promotes adhesion and film hardness.

Directions:

Mix with Angelus Acrylic Paints: 50% 2-Hard for flexible surfaces, 75% 2-Hard for rigid surfaces.

Apply multiple thin coats until you obtain full and even coverage.

Allow to dry for 48 hours.

2-Thin is perfect when you need to thin out our Angelus Leather Acrylic Paint. It keeps your shoe paint from getting a rubberized feeling on a mesh surface, and it’s great for thinning the paint for airbrush use on your customizations. For airbrush applications, we suggest using a 1 part 2-thin to 4 parts paint ratio (1:4).

Our Reusable Paint Strainers work great to remove all imperfections in the paint.

Angelus Duller is mixed with Angelus Paint in order to reduce the amount of shine in the paint. Perfect item if you want the “Matte” or “Flat” look. We recommend mixing no more than 5-8% duller into your paint solution.

Be careful as if you mix too much duller it was cause the paint to not perform and have issues. Always be cautious with mixing less and adding a little more if you need it do be more dull.

You can also use our Flat or Matte Angelus 4-Coat to get a dull sheen with a finish at the end of your project.

Quick Guide for Paint Additives

Here is a quick cheat sheet for all the Angelus Paint Additives:

Duller – Is for dulling the paint to make it appear more flat or matte

2-Thin – For thinning the paints if you need them thinner for an airbrush or another thinned-out application.

2-Hard – For hardening the paint for projects that do not bend or flex. Usually, we suggest this for non-moving parts like glass or plastics. This changes the flexibility of our paint to make it more ridged and scuff protectant.

2-Soft – For making the paint more launderable and soft. This is great if you are doing sock liners, laces, or any other canvas, denim, or porous materials. Make sure to heat set with a heat gun to make the paint not stay liquid.

2-Thick – For thickening the paint to get texture and explore new possibilities!

Why does it feel tacky when completely dry?

Please make sure that your layers are fully dry between layers. If not, the tackiness may occur if the layers have not cured. The tacky feel should go away over time. On FAUX leather surfaces, it tends to stay longer. We recommend a very light sanding with a 1000+ grit. This will not compromise the texture or paint on your project.
